Sleepless in Seattle

"We're too excited to sleep!" If you've seen the little boy on the Disney World commercial, you'll understand our title. We were all so ready to be here and after 1/2 day, we have not been disappointed. We landed about noon Pacific time, checked into our downtown hotel, and found the hop-on-hop off double-decker bus to scope out the sights so we'd know what we would do in-depth on Tuesday. Then Monday night we went to Bellvue to eat at Trader Vic's in memory of granddad and were not disappointed. Here are a few pictures:Hiking from our hotel to the Space Needle to catch the bus--uphill all the way!

This is a park at the Space Needle that reminded me of The Tuilleries in Paris, only on a smaller scale. It was so green with the fountain and people enjoying the outdoors everywhere. We loved seeing all the houses built up the hillside.
The smells were delicious! Here Mamaw enjoys the beautiful flowers that are growing everywhere.

We learned in Europe always to buy an open-air hop-on-hop-off bus ticket that is good for a couple of days. That way we could scope out all the sights and decide where we wanted to get off the next time to do a little exploring. After Monday's ride we knew where we wanted to head first thing Tuesday, so more pictures and text will follow later.

Ready for our good ancient Asian wood clay oven cooked meal at Trader Vic's. It was a good meal and a good time for Mamaw to remember all her travels with Granddad.
