Run for the B.E.A.C.H.

Just to let everyone know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so to pay tribute to my mother who died last Christmas from breast cancer, I will be participating in the Lincoln County Run for the B.E.A.C.H. (Breast Cancer Education, Awareness, Cure & Hope). All proceeds will stay in Lincoln County to help defray mammogram costs and expenses related to breast cancer. The Capitan High School National Honor Society of which I am the sponsor also tries to promote breast cancer awareness since this disease is not just an "old lady" disease, but can affect anyone (even men) at any age. This picture of my mother, Sylvia Garrett, was taken in July before she died at Christmas, and it is one of my favorite pictures, especially because she is holding my 2 grandbabies.

Jo Beth, I am Kay (Tucker) Newberry, one of the Tucker twins from Lubbock. My aunt Evelyn told me about your blog. I have enjoyed your blog this afternoon. I am a breast cancer survivor and applaud your efforts to raise money.
