Adventures at Chuck E Cheese

For Jackson's 2nd birthday he got to meet a few friends at Chuck E Cheese to play and eat pizza. He enjoyed playing "at the mouse." Jackson ate one piece of pizza after his mommy cut it up, but when she came at his second piece with a knife, he waved her away. He knew how to eat pizza like a big boy and even started from the correct end!
In case you can't tell from the picture, Jackson is blowing out the #2 candle on his Elmo cake.

Who needs a fork to eat cake anyway??

Play Date at the Park

We got to Dallas on Thursday afternoon, so on Friday (Jackson's birthday), Grampa, NanaJo, and Daddy took Jackson to the park to play while Mommy had a meeting at the church. Needless to say, we all had lots of fun.

Jackson and Daddy had fun playing with the backhoe (actually Daddy even had fun doing it himself before Jackson joined in).

Jackson got to feed goldfish crackers to the fish in the pond. I wonder if they knew they were eating fish crackers? The donkey seems as curious about Jackson as Jackson does the donkey. He did get to pet him and see cows as well.

Our Visit with the Walls in Dallas

We had so much fun playing with Jackson on our visit to Dallas for his 2nd birthday. He made sure we played with all his toys and that he showed us all the new things he could do. He is quite a little character!
Here he's "under cubbers" in his nap mat that he uses for Preschool Pals. He likes to play "under cubbers" with whoever is willing to get under a blanket and let him "find" them.
Jackson has lots of books (and toys), so he and "Gramba" read and played a lot.
His other Nana sent him a cap that told the world he was 2. He put it on himself and looked like a regular big kid.
He is a snuggly little boy, so NanaJo really liked that part.
We took him a new wooden puzzle that had emergency vehicles that made noises.
Jackson decided if Gramba could look through his glasses, so could Jackson.

Happyhappyhappy Eminee

We were just in Lubbock for a few days of our Spring Break and got to spend a little time with Emily (and her parents, of course). She is one happy kid! She loves to say "happyhappyhappy" and "ohboyohboyohboy." Unlike most toddlers when they drop (or throw) something, she doesn't say "uh oh"--she say's "Oh no!" Quite the drama queen, I guess. She has a little trouble saying "L" so she calls herself "Eminee." We went out to eat every evening since Grandmother's house was being readied for an estate sale and was not very toddler friendly at the moment. Here are a few pictures. Note all the teeth and curls.

He's Back !!!

We were watching TV last night and cooking supper when I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. I looked out in the back yard and there he was eating what little green grass was trying to come up. I grabed the camera and went out the front door and around to the side of the house. When I looked around the corner he was standing there looking right at me. I pulled back away from the corner and used the camera, holding it around the corner and hit the button. After the flash I expected him to run off, but he stepped over and kept looking so I got another shot. As you can see he is very thin, it has been a really rough winter for the animals with little moisture.
We are stretching for the end of today which brings the beginning of spring break to Capitan. We'll get over to see Emily and her Mom & Dad on Monday, then we will go to Dallas to see Jackson and his Mom & Dad for His Second Birthday on the 18th.
We will probably come home from Lubbock and move our furniture from the "Winter Mode" (camped next to the fireplace) and put everything in the "Summer Mode" so we can watch the birds and the trees out in front of the house. As you can see from the pictures it is still very brown around here. We are praying for rain and waiting for the warm weather to get here.
