You're going to have to read this whole story before you understand the title.
We came to Lubbock today planning on picking Emily up from childcare after her nap and spending the afternoon with her until Steph & Ken got off work.....BUT...as we were on the way, Steph called to say that she was sick and running a high fever and that the childcare center had called them to pick Emily up because she had diarrhea. We decided we would keep our plans and check on her after her nap. By 2:30 she was awake and was not sick at all--probably teething, so we picked her up so Stephanie could sleep.
When we got to their house & knocked, Emily yelled "Come on in!" She was so excited to see us & just hugged & hugged us. She kept patting me on the back as I held her & repeated over and over, "Hi, Nana Jo!" Then she would go to Ed, hug him and say, "Hi, Grampa!" When we asked her if she wanted to go with us for awhile, she turned to Ken and said, "Bye, Daddy. See you tomorrow."
We checked into our hotel and just let her explore the room a little. She loved the big bed with all the pillows which she immediately rearranged.

All the way to the hotel, Emily kept saying from her carseat, "Hi, Nana Jo. What ya doin' today?" I would answer, but then we'd go through the whole conversation again about 5 minutes later. This went on all afternoon...not every five minutes once we got a little busier, but on a fairly regular basis. I told Ed that I felt like I was in the middle of the movie "Ground Hog Day."
After a few more stops at a few stores (DSW for sure), we took her to the mall and let her play in the kids play area, took a break to feed her some chicken nuggets and apple juice at Chick Fil-A, and then back to the play area. After a couple of hours of playing, eating, walking around the mall, and playing some more, she was walking like a zombie, so we took her back home.

Stephanie went to the dr. while we had Emily, so she got some antibiotics and a good nap. By the time we took Emily home, Steph was feeling somewhat better. Hopefully, after a good night's sleep she will feel more like having company tomorrow mornng. Then we head home just after lunch. At least we got to see them.
